Phoenix Clan EU
2010
Phoenix Clan EU are a group of online PC gamers who needed an online presence at short notice. The site reflects the style of online games they play, and has great community functionality to allow communication in as many different ways as possible. The Joomla! content management system was used, and forum, online chat, automated registration, private messaging and member profiling was added. Tight integration of these components on the site using Community Builder allows everyone to keep up to date. There was also custom coding for a site-widget that tracks the Clan's Team Speak server in real-time. |
Marchants Solicitors
2010
Marchants required a slick, modern upgrade for their web presence. Redesigning the logo and creating a typographic brand helps to lift this website above other corporate sites in the same industry. A custom conveyancing quote form, complete with re-Captcha submission protection increases the functionality. Other dynamic features include news feeds, RSS and Contact forms with integrated Google Maps.

Nottinghamshire Law Society required a complete revision of their existing, plain HTML website. The website needed to meet several different demands, not least that the administrators could update the site themselves, including a custom solicitor database. The resulting site has a professional, corporate feel appropriate to a large organisation, but a user interface that is accessible to the public as well as to the Society's members. With live feeds, front-page ajax search, fly-out MOO-menu systems and a minimal colour scheme, the site is immediately usable. The on-site calendar system for courses is also user-friendly, and allows people to view and print application forms online. Based on the rock-solid Joomla! content management system, and with extra security built in, Nottinghamshire Law Society now have a website that will take them into the future. |
This educational organisation required a new cms dynamic website, matched with their design brand-book, to co-incide with their company launch. The site primarily gives information on course availability, company structure and philosophy and a registered members' area for a forum of osteopathic practitioners. The result is a clear, concise and fresh-looking site that makes use of various technologies to provide for these demands, while running parallel with a pre-existing design brief. |

It was decided that a clean, modern and stylish site was needed, that could manage to retain the now-recognised styling but take their business into the future. The ever-popular 'Joomla' content management system was used so Wildweaves staff can edit content and update the site themselves, and a modified version of the open-source shopping cart 'Virtuemart' for the e-commerce functionality. Alongside this core content, Photon integrated a moo-tools drop-down menu, a slide out javascript menu system, 3D flash tag-cloud with large fonts for that Web 2.0 look, and much more (see 'technology'). The result is a unique, highly contemporary e-commerce site, which manages to fuse the recognised colours and styling of the old Wildweaves website, while injecting a fresh, clean and user-friendly impression. Wildweaves natural fibre store goes from strength to strength. |
Penny Howes Editorial Services specialises in writing, revising, editing and abstracting scientific and medical work. The website neeeded to reflect that level of professionalism while retaining an accessible, clear and easily navigated style. Horizontal and vertical menus with a monochormatic colour scheme helped achieve this objective, along with a little subtle flash animation in the custom header area. These simple aspects help this site be more memorable, and W3C compliant coding means web standards were built in to the site from the very beginning.

Strawberry How Nursery required a clean, accessible and informative site, mainly for current or prospective parents of children at the nursery. The Joomla content management system was used as an infrastructure for this project. A bright and colourful header image was offset by minimal, gray and gradient based design, with live news feeds, galleries, a login system for parents to access parent-only areas and add-ons such as google maps and calendars. The result is an easy to navigate, comprehensive site, that will take Strawberry How into the future and create integration and involvement of the children, parents and staff. |
Room-b needed a modern but highly functional site to complement their contemporary high-end luxury serviced apartment business. Muted tones with splashes of solid colour make a professional impression on the visitor, and light-box style pop-out images in the apartment database improve the user experience. A highly modified apartment database was developed in conjunction with Room-b's specific needs, helping their portfolio of properties stand out to the client, and improving the SEO standing of their domain and brand. |
